BANGALORE: In the wake of increasing accidents caused by drivers of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses, a training course for divisional officers, traffic inspectors and security officers of the corporation began on Thursday. The three-day training session was inaugurated by M.C. Narayana Gowda, Joint Commissioner of Police. "We will train these officials, who will in turn train the KSRTC bus crews in their respective divisions. The main aim of this training is to prevent accidents and, more importantly, how to act when an accident takes place. They will be trained how to lodge a complaint and file an FIR (First Information Report)," a KSRTC official said. Thirty-five officials will be trained as a part of the programme. The Police Department will train the officials. The course will include traffic rules, preliminary arrangements to be made at an accident spot and the facilities that KSRTC drivers can avail themselves of.
