HYDERABAD: The Government has earmarked Rs. 300 crores to develop 1.10 lakh acres of land in the second phase of the land distribution programme to be launched on July 30. The Revenue Minister, Dharmana Prasada Rao, told reporters after the conclusion of the two-day Joint Collectors' conference here on Thursday that 1,10,618 acres would be distributed in 22 districts barring Hyderabad that day. Mr. Rao said Rs. 500 crores had already been allocated under the Indira Prabha scheme as part of the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) to develop agriculture land.
District-wise targets
An additional Rs. 300 crores was specifically earmarked to develop the land allotted under the second phase of the land distribution. The Government had already fixed district-wise targets and Joint Collectors had been instructed to make all the necessary arrangements to issue pattas in the name of women beneficiaries only. Joint survey The list of beneficiaries would be available on the website of the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) a day before the distribution was done. Mr. Rao said a joint survey would be undertaken by the revenue and forest officials to resolve disputes pertaining to forestlands from August. The Joint Collectors, who were Settlement officers, had been asked to settle the problems relating to 2 lakh acres on a war-footing. Referring to the land acquisition process, the Minister said that six new LA units in addition to the existing 44 units had been constituted.
