KOLLAM: The district unit of the Kerala NGO Union has registered its protest against the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) disconnecting power supply to the Education Deputy Director's office in Kollam. The union activists organised a demonstration and a meeting on Thursday in protest against the move. In a statement after the meeting, the district secretary of the Union, N. Sasidharan, said that during the past four months, supply to the DD office was disconnected five times on the ground that the electricity charges were not paid. The Union said that more than hundred employees, were working at the office. Water supply also gets blocked. Failure on the part of the Government to make the electricity bill allotments in time was the main cause for the disconnection.
