Jordan to unveil Franck Montagny

LONDON: Jordan is set to unveil Renault test driver Franck Montagny in the practice session on Friday.

Speculation is rife that Montagny could take Monteiro's place in the team as soon as the Canadian Grand Prix.

Jordan announced on Thursday that Montagny will join the team as a driver for Friday's practice sessions

A statement quoted Colin Kolles, Jordan's Managing Director as saying, "We are very pleased to be given the opportunity to use Franck Montagny's considerable track experience — more than 13,000 km behind the wheel of an F-1 car — to give our development a major push forward. In light of this, I am expecting improved performances from our team over the course of the next few races,'' he said. Renault F-1 Managing Director, Flavio Briatore said, ``We have been working to give Franck the opportunity to demonstrate his undoubted capabilities.'' — UNI
