NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court today granted four weeks to MCD to clear stray cattle from the trans-Yamuna region of the city which witnessed the killing of two persons by bulls in February. Municipal Corporation of Delhi, which had earlier told the Bench comprising Chief Justice B.C. Patel and Justice S.K. Kaul that the drive against the stray cattle in Shahadara-South and Shahadara-North Zones will be carried out in 15 days, sought more time today. The Corporation had informed that the drive in the East Delhi will start after its completion in the Central Zone. Till May 19, the MCD had claimed that it had it rounded up 644 stray cattle between May 2 and 17 as a part of its all-out drive against stray cattle menace in the national capital. The Bench is monitoring the progress made in this regard on weekly basis.
