NDPL advisory
As some individuals posing as officials from NDPL's enforcement department or meter installation agencies were offering illegal services to consumers in return for money, the company has issued photo I-cards to all its employees as well as contract workers. According to a NDPL release, a case was reported from Roop Nagar where five men carrying fake NDPL I-cards were caught red-handed extorting money from a consumer. They were apparently threatening to book the consumer for power theft as his meter was tampered with. In case of doubt, consumers can report the matter to the nearest NDPL office or ring up 55111912.
