NAAC accreditation for colleges

HYDERABAD: As many as 66 colleges in the State have secured accreditation and grades so far from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Of them, 34 are Government ones.

These colleges have obtained B++ grade on an average, the fourth in order of the nine grades given by the council based on certain benchmarks such as quality of teaching, buildings, laboratories and libraries. The Government Degree College at Anantapur secured `A' grade. Giving these details at a press conference on Thursday, the Higher Education Minister, P. Venkateswara Rao, and the Director of Collegiate Education, K. Lakshminarayana, said, the Government, heartened by the achievement, was referring 75 more colleges this year for grading.
