BANGALORE: As many as 20,995 candidates have been assigned ranks in the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K), the results of which will be announced on the COMED-K website (www.comedk.org) on Friday. The test was held to determine the merit list for admission to MBBS, BDS, B.E. and B.Arch. courses, to be used by the COMED-K member institutions for admissions against management quota seats. Of the candidates who took the test, 9,710 were from Karnataka and 11,285 from outside the State.
Highest scores
In the combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (considered for the engineering stream), the candidate who has secured the first rank has scored 140 out of 180. In the medical and dental stream, the top score is 166 out of 180. In the aptitude test for B.Arch., 109.5 out of 120 is the top score. All the first 10 ranks in the engineering stream have gone to Karnataka students, of whom nine are from Bangalore and one is from Gulbarga. In the medical and dental stream, nine of the top 10 ranks have been secured by students from the State. In the B.Arch. stream, eight of the top 10 candidates are from Karnataka.
Toppers
While the engineering stream topper is R. Prashanthakrishna Sai from Bangalore, the medical and dental stream topper is Nishant Gupta. Shruthi Ramakrishna from Bangalore is the topper in the architecture stream. The subject toppers are Nishant Gupta (56 out of 60 in Physics), Raghuraj Hathwar (37 in Mathematics), Anupam Biswas (59 in Biology), Roshan Mahesh Lal Malani (59 in Chemistry), Suhasini Bangar (59 in Architecture I) and Shruti Ramakrishna (53.5 in Architecture II). The COMED-K executive secretary, S. Kumar, said the consortium detected 18 cases of attempted impersonation and malpractices.
