Tamil Nadu Newsprint pays 27.5 p.c.
CHENNAI:
: Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers has earned a pre-tax profit of Rs. 39.17 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 against Rs. 68.58 crore after providing Rs. 61.88 crore towards depreciation and Rs. 16.21 crore towards interest and finance charges. The post-tax profit during the year was Rs. 37.95 crore against Rs. 52.81 crore. The profit during the year was affected by stoppage of paper machines for 58 machine days due to water shortage in the river Cauvery and usage of more purchased pulp due to bagasse shortage. The directors have recommended a dividend of 27.5 per cent.
