KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday admitted a writ petition seeking a directive to the Union Government and the petroleum companies to strictly comply with the norms regarding the distance between two fuel retail outlet stations and the accessibility to the stations. Justice K. Balakrishnan Nair while admitting the petition also issued notice to the Union Government, the National Highway authorities and the petroleum companies. The petition was filed by P. C. Mathew, president, Kottayam and Idukki Petroleum Dealers Association. The petitioner alleged that the petroleum companies did not comply with the distance norms while issuing new permits for retail outlet stations on national highways and State highways.

Justice K. Balakrishnan Nair on Friday dismissed a writ petition seeking a direction to the State Government to conduct fresh counselling for the two newly-created seats for the postgraduate dental surgery course in Paedodontics in the Kozhikode Medical College.
The petition was filed by T. Shamin.
Dismissed
A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court today dismissed a writ petition against the collection of charges for the use of toilets in the KSRTC bus stations. The petition was dismissed by the Bench comprising the Chief Justice Rajiv Gupta and Justice K. S. Radhakrishan.
