TAMBARAM: A meeting on creating an awareness on the ill effects of smoking was organised by the Railway Hospital, Tambaram, for its staff. The meeting, that was held at the EMU loco shed canteen, was organised in connection with the World No Smoking Day on May 31. Madan Mohan, Senior Divisional Medical Officer, Tambaram Health Unit, briefed the Railway employees about the harmful effects of smoking. He also conducted a quiz on the subject. More than 100 employees of the Railways attended the meeting. Railway officers said such meetings were held every year. The Railway Hospital at Tambaram regularly conducts similar programmes on AIDS, cancer and population.
