His admirers and party activists put up special pandals at street corners at several places in the town where they displayed his portraits. Some had the cut-outs displayed of the mythological characters like Rama, Krishna, Duryodhana, Ravana Brahma which the late Chief Minister portrayed with aplomb leaving an everlasting imprint on their minds. The make-shift camps were seen playing his hit songs while some played the sound track of his run-away hits like `Srikrishna Pandaveeyam', Dana Veera Sura Karna' etc.
Giant cake
The late leader's close follower P.R. Mohan of Srikalahasti got a giant cake weighing 83 kg matching his age-- prepared and got it cut amid a huge gathering of his fans. Distribution of food packets, fruits, biscuits to the poor and the inmates of hospitals also marked the day. Several TDP functionaries participated in the programmes and went down the memory lane recalling the sterling role played by NTR both on the silver screen and in the political field.
