TIRUNELVELI: Down by two goals till the 46th minute, Indian Bank, Chennai, staged a remarkable recovery to claw its way back with a penalty corner conversion after the hooter to set up a tie breaker and off it, beat Indian Overseas Bank, Chennai, with an aggregate of 6-4 to enter the final of the Kandasamy Trophy State level hockey tournament here on Saturday. Indian Bank will meet Reserve Bank of India, Chennai, which prevailed over last year's runner-up TNHA Juniors 3-2 via tie-breaker, after the teams were locked goalless at the regulation time. IOB was two goals up with just six minutes in the second session with goals scored by Sasikaran and Felix. Over the next five minutes Indian Bank reduced the margin with a penalty stroke conversion by Prabakaran. Indian Bank then forced a penalty corner on the hooter and Alfred scored. In the tie-breaker, Prabakaran, Gopi, Sudharsan and Alfred scored for Indian Bank. For IOB, Felix and Muthukumar were the scorers. In the tie-breaker of the other match, Shanmuga Raja, Saravanan and Radhakrishnan scored for Reserve Bank. For TNHA Juniors, Ashwin and Ruban scored.
