MUMBAI: India's foreign exchange reserves fell for the fourth week in a row by $520 million to $139 billion for the week ended May 20. These reserves stood at $139.654 billion, a decline of $520 million, during the week under review, according to the Reserve Bank of India's weekly statistical supplement released here on Saturday. Foreign currency assets also registered a fall of $518 million to $133.767 billion for the reporting week. The fall in inflows was mainly due to revaluation of international currencies, including appreciation of the dollar, analysts said. Gold reserves and Special Drawing Rights remained static at $4.443 billion and $4 million. The country's reserve tranche position dropped by $2 million to $1.440 billion, it said. Loans and advances to the State governments decreased by Rs. 2,109 crore to Rs. 27 crore. PTI
