Ayesha Fatima
HYDERABAD: The State has a new topper for Intermediate second year this year. Ayesha Fatima, who had jointly held the first place with K.M. Pavan Kumar Namburi, has edged him out by one additional mark that she secured in the revaluation of the mathematics paper. Ayesha has improved her score from 73 to 74 in Mathematics II-B after revaluation of the answer papers taking her total to 985 from the previous 984 marks. She now automatically becomes eligible for direct entry into BITS, Pilani -- her dream destination. She wants to pursue computer science engineering at BITS and make a career in it.
Question in question
The additional mark was awarded for Question No. 10 in Maths-II B. Earlier, she was awarded zero marks for the two marks question. But during revaluation she got one mark for the question related to integration. "I should have got full marks and I still don't understand why they are denying total marks for the question," says Ayesha, a student of M.S. Junior College, Masab Tank. She wants to contest the decision on that question again after discussing with her lecturers. Her father, Syed Mahmood Ali claimed that the other topper Pavan Kumar had not applied for revaluation and there was no chance for anyone to beat Ayesha's score.
