HYDERABAD: Swami Ramananda Tirtha Memorial Committee has chalked out programmes to celebrate the birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister, P.V. Narasimha Rao, on June 27 and 28. The chairman of the committee, K.V. Keshavulu, told reporters here on Saturday that the committee thought it fit to celebrate the birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister, who was the founder of the committee and its research centre. Eminent persons, farmers and producers of medicinal plants besides manufacturers would attend a meeting on medicinal and aromatic plants during the two days. To coincide with his birth anniversary, the committee decided to take up with the President of India the need to take up large-scale production of medicinal and aromatic plants on fallow lands. Mr. Keshavulu said that an international conference on medicinal and aromatic plants was organised under the chairmanship of the late leader in 2003. A Hyderabad declaration on medicinal and aromatic plants was also made.
