Baby's body found

in dustbin

The body of a newborn boy was found near a dustbin at Chintalbasthi under the Saifabad police limits on Saturday. A passer-by, G. Padma, informed the police. The body was shifted to Osmania Hospital mortuary.

Run over by

train engine

The body of Haleema Begum (21), a resident of Dhobhighat, was found on the railway tracks at Yakutpura on Friday night. She was the daughter of Abdul Khader Baig, a retired Government employee. It is learnt that Khader and his wife, Malan Bee had a quarrel on Friday night and the latter left home threatening to commit suicide. Haleema went in search for her mother. While crossing the tracks, apparently a train engine hit her.

Body found

The decomposed body of a 19-year-old youth, G. Anand, was found in an open land under the Narsingi police limits on Saturday. A resident of Doma in Rangareddy district, he was missing since May 20.

Cash bag snatched

Two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a cash bag containing Rs. 87,000 from the cashier of a private firm, Giridhar, under the Malakpet police limits on Friday. Giridhar and the office boy, Shiva, were going to the State Bank of Hyderabad to deposit cash when the bag was snatched.

Boy electrocuted

Eight-year-old M. Pavan who came in contact with a live wire at his relatives' residence at Rehmatnagar in Yousufguda on May 25, died on Friday while undergoing treatment. He was the son of Yesoba, natives of Suryapet of Nalgonda district.

Held with ID liquor

The State Task Force, Prohibition and Excise arrested K. Venkatesh of Tilaknagar, wanted in several cases of transportation of illicitly distilled liquor. He used to engage unemployed youth to sell ID liquor sachets and was into bootlegging for the last several years.
