BANGALORE: An elephant belonging to a mutt in Seshadripuram strayed into the compound of the Minister for Agriculture, K. Sreenivasa Gowda's house on Sankey Road on Saturday afternoon. According to police, around 1.45 p.m. a stand-by mahout was taking the tamed elephant to the Nehru Park in Seshadripuram through Sankey Road. As the mahout lost control over the elephant, the animal pulled down the branches of two trees on Sankey Road, off Golf Club, and strayed into the compound of the Minister's bungalow. The elephant entered the compound of Mr. Gowda's house and started grazing on plants and grass. The mahout, who regularly took care of the elephant, was immediately summoned to the spot. He offered bananas and greens to the elephant and took it away.
