Rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at many places over north interior Karnataka and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telengana.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature rose appreciably at many places over Kerala, at one or two places over south Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, rose at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, north Tamil Nadu, fell appreciably at one or two places over rest north Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka, fell at one or two places over Rayalaseema, rest coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably above normal at a few places over north interior Karnataka, coastal Karnataka, above normal at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, Rayalaseema, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, markedly below normal at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, appreciably below normal at one or two places over rest south coastal Andhra Pradesh, below normal at a few places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over rest north interior Karnataka, rest Rayalaseema, rest Tamil Nadu and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

Nizamabad recorded the highest maximum temperature of 46 degree Celsius in the region.

FORECAST (valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over Lakshadweep and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Telangana and Rayalaseema.
