Vala is Gujarat unit BJP chief

AHMEDABAD:
Gujarat Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala on Sunday formally took over as the president of the State unit of the BJP. Mr. Vala, who was named for the post about a fortnight back, is likely to quit the Narendra Modi Cabinet in the next few days in keeping with the party's policy of one-man, one post. He would name the new team of office-bearers in consultation with the central leadership. Asked by media persons, Mr. Vala denied there was any ``dissidence'' within the State unit and said there could be some ``differences'' on the style of functioning of some leaders that could be sorted out through discussions.
