Staff Reporter

UTUKUR (CUDDAPAH DT): The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Sunday lambasted the Telugu Desam Party President, N. Chandrababu Naidu, for his assertion that the Congress would not be allowed to win the Penukonda by-election at any cost.

Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy alleged, at a press conference at Utukur in Chintakommadinne mandal, Dr. Reddy recalled that in a bid to change the face of Penukonda segment by ending factionalism, he fielded a BC candidate, but Mr. Naidu failed to reciprocate and fielded a factionalist.

Dr. Reddy held Mr. Naidu responsible for the death of six TDP men and a police official in violence during the filing of nomination by the TDP candidate, Paritala Sunita.

The TDP chief's compliments to partymen who resorted to violence after the Penukonda MLA, Paritala Ravi's murder revealed his `bankruptcy and frustration,' Dr. Reddy alleged.
