HYDERABAD: Seven backward classes organisations have warned the "opponents of reservations" against obstructing the ongoing counselling for admission to post-graduate medical courses. R. Krishnaiah, president, Andhra Pradesh BC Welfare Association, and six other leaders in a joint statement sought tight security at the counselling centres. If such measures were not taken the organisations themselves would have to think of resisting the `opponents' of reservations. The other signatories to the statement were K. Srinivas Goud (BC Vidyarthi Sangham), G. Krishna (SC, ST, BC Vidyarthi Sangham), G. Mallesh Yadav (State BC Front), S. Bhaskar Yadav (Rashtra BC Sena), B. Venkat (BC Yuvajana Sangham) and U. Parasuram (Rashtra Dalitha Vidyarthula Forum).
G.O. welcomed
Meanwhile, the Mala Mahanadu has welcomed the re-counselling of PG medical courses, saying that the new G.O. sought to undo the injustice done to the SC, ST and BC students. P.V Rao, president, in a statement while thanking the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and the Principal Secretary, Health, I. V. Subba Rao, sought a comprehensive enquiry into the alleged "sale" of seats during the second counselling and action against officials.
