Civic bodies to observe Environment Day

The theme would be on `Green cities'

HYDERABAD:
All the 125 municipal councils and corporations in the State would observe the World Environment day on June 5 with the theme `Green cities'.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between the Principal Secretary (Environment), T. Chatterjee, the Commissioner and Director Municipal Administration, Vijay Kumar and the Director of Andhra Pradesh National Green Corp (NGC). In response to the call given by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), an exhibition of posters on environment conversation and awareness programmes on the problems of drinking water, waste water, traffic, solid waste and urban forestry are planned in all municipalities and corporations.
