SCCL pays Rs. 181.84 cr. as income tax

HYDERABAD: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has contributed to the central exchequer a sum of Rs. 181.84 crores by way of income tax for the year 2004-05 and in turn has been recognised as one of the highest advance tax payers.

On the occasion of the Income Tax Day celebrations, the I-T Department officials invited the highest advance taxpayers for a felicitation function.

A memento was presented to the SCCL Director (Finance), K.R.N. Chary, and the General Manager (Finance), K.V. Kondaiah Sastry, by the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, P. K. Sinha.

The SCCL in a press note issued here on Sunday said that the Rs. 181.84 crores contribution was only a part of the massive contribution the company makes to the exchequer.

It contributes over Rs. 300 by way of royalty and Rs. 100 crores as sales tax.
