VISAKHAPATNAM: Private guest houses/resorts in the city particularly those located in secluded places and on the beach road will come under the scanner of the Police Department. Sources said that the Commissioner of Police, V.S.K. Kaumudi, had decided to launch a crackdown on anti-social activities being patronised at private guest houses/resorts following raids on Royal guest house and Senora beach resort. While a high-tech sex den was detected at Royal guest house on Friday night after the Deputy Commissioner of Police, K. Lakshmi Reddy, took a room on rent posing himself as a contractor from Nellore, gambling activity was found at Senora. Another club run by a voluntary organisation was also raided recently where women were found involved in gambling. All raids were conducted on the directions of Mr. Kaumudi. After raids on Royal guest house, sources said a list of guest houses/resorts is being prepared with the anti-social activities occurring there. Another private resort at Rushikonda also came under a raid sometime ago where `obscene' dance programmes used to be conducted during week-ends. In the Royal guest house raid case, all the sex workers, pimps and the promoters, will be produced before the magistrate on Monday.
