Lakshya - 2005 inaugurated

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, inaugurated a two-day training camp, Lakshya - 2005, for the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) office-bearers here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Dikshit asserted that the Congress party had a long history of sacrifices and it always stood for democracy, secularism, unity and integrity, and socialism.

She expressed the hope that the camp would help the participants to understand the ideology and history of the party better.

The ongoing camp, attended by NSUI office-bearers from Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia and college presidents, would focus on the challenges facing the country and discuss ways to bring more students to the organisation's fold.

The Delhi Pradesh Congress president, Ram Babu Sharma, the Indian Youth Congress president, Ashok Tanwar, and the Secretary, All-India Congress Committee, Sudhakar Reddy, were also present on the occasion.
