`A Bit of Sunday' ends today

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Just one day is left as Monday is the last day to be at "A Bit of Sunday," an exhibition of products from 11 craft groups and artisans from Karnataka and other States.

Skilled men and women from Sandur Kushala Kalakendra, the Regional Handicraft Resource Centre of Shimoga and Sadhana-Gramin Abhivruddhi Sangha of Bijapur are vying with artisans from Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Bihar to grab your attention. Besides terracotta and bamboo products, jewellery and embroidery material, the artisans are also taking orders for terracotta and wall murals during the five-day exhibition. A Bit of Sunday has joined hands with Craft NGO to organise an "open forum" where art-lovers may buy directly from the artisans.

The store claims that its aim is to provide a fair platform to craft groups to market their products "with all the proceeds going to them."

The products on show are "green substitute" for plastics and they show that simple and commonplace biodegradable material can replace things that harm the nature, while adding to the beauty of your showcase. To reach the place you should take the lane opposite Café Coffee Day outlet on 100-ft Road and take the first right (No. 6/1, 10th Main, Water Tank Road, 1st Cross, 2nd Stage, Indiranagar, ph: (dial 25202860 or 25202861).
