Nandini Layout residents want mini stadium

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Members of the Nandini Layout Welfare and Cultural Association on Sunday appealed to Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) to develop a mini stadium or a playground in their area.

While appreciating the civic body's efforts in developing several parks and providing basic amenities such as regular water supply and proper underground drainage system in the area, the members led by their president, B.M. Shashidhar, and general secretary, H N Devaraj, submitted a memorandum to the Rajajinagar MLA, N.L. Narendra Babu, at a function organised by the association.

The residents requested for a service road beside the Ring Road in Nandini Layout and a stop for all trains at the Yeshwanthpur Railway Station.

They requested the MLA to ensure that the civic amenity sites in the area are used for the same purpose.

"As the area has a lot of revenue sites and owners have paid the betterment charges 20 years ago, we urged the State Government to reconvey the sites and regularise them," Mr. Devaraj said.

BMP thanked

At the same time, the members thanked the civic body for asphalting all roads and providing illumination on all roads in the area.

The Peenya Industrial area corporator, A. Krishnappa, the ward committee member, K. Janardhan, and several officials from BMP, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation, theBangalore Electricity Supply Company and the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board were present.
