Letters to the Editor
Why is BJP leader L.K. Advani giving so much importance to his party's boycott of Parliament, terming it unfortunate and against the interests of the country? The people have long stopped considering the BJP a responsible Opposition party. So it does not really matter to them whether or not its leaders attend Parliament.
Amol S. Bagadia,
The cartoon of Mr. Advani sitting for the annual exam for the Opposition (May 26) aptly conveys the nation's thinking. The main Opposition party is like a rudderless boat, caught in a whirlpool of chaos, confusion, infighting, jingoism, and many more of its own invention. Its leaders frequent the Rashtrapati Bhavan more than Parliament. The BJP's assessment of the UPA Government's performance is like the evaluation of a student by a teacher who has been on leave for six months during an academic year.
G.E.B. Siluvaimani,
