Symposium commemorates World Anti-Tobacco Day
|
CHENNAI:
Doctors came together on Sunday morning to say "no to tobacco, the slow poison."
The inter-disciplinary symposium to commemorate World Anti-Tobacco Day, which falls on May 31, was organised by the Poonamallee High Road branch of the Indian Medical Association at the Apollo First Med Hospital. IMA honorary secretary A.J. Premkumar Satya said smoking becomes an addiction knowingly or unknowingly. Youngsters also indulge in chewing tobacco. All these lead to cancers and other health problems.
