THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation will take the paddy procured by various cooperative societies in Palakkad, Thrissur, Alappuzha and Kottayam district last season "without causing any loss to the societies," the Minister for Civil Supplies, Adoor Prakash, said here on Monday. Briefing media after a meeting with the office-bearers of 44 societies involved in the procurement exercise, the Minister said the corporation would begin accepting the procured paddy on Tuesday. Mr. Prakash did not say what price the corporation would be offering the societies for the procured paddy. "The societies will not incur any loss," he said. The societies had procured paddy promising the farmers prices ranging from Rs.730 to Rs.770 a quintal.
