COIMBATORE: "I have received no concrete proposal [on electoral alliance in Bihar] either from Congress president Sonia Gandhi or from the Communist parties," the Lok Jan Shakti Party leader, Ram Vilas Paswan, said here on Monday. Responding to a Congress appeal for the LJP joining hands with the Rashtriya Janata Dal of Lalu Prasad, he said there was no question of joining anyone. "All that I said was if there is a United Progressive Alliance type of formation in all the States, we will consider [an alliance]." Any decision would be taken only at the national executive that would meet after the elections were announced for the Bihar Assembly, he told the media on way to Mettupalayam for the party's zonal conference. Asked whether he foresaw any political "realignment" in Bihar, he said, "I cannot say. When it was pointed out that DMK president M. Karunanidhi had said that the LJP and the RJD should work together, he said that "it is easy to say that you should speak truth; but difficult to practise." When it was pointed out that the Prime Minister, who had a clean image did not dare do anything against Mr. Prasad, Mr. Paswan retorted that the Centre did not oblige Mr. Prasad who was opposed to President's rule and who wanted his wife Rabri Devi sworn in Chief Minister even though the RJD was the single largest party in the Assembly.
