DHARWAD: An average 58 per cent polling was recorded on Monday in the elections to four agricultural produce market committees in the district. According to reports received here, the percentage recorded in the election to the Hubli Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee was 70. In Kundagol, it was 48 per cent, while Navalgund recorded 60 per cent. The percentage recorded in Dharwad was 55. As an administrator has been appointed to the Kalghatgi Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee, polling was not held there on Monday.
Counting
The counting of votes will take place on Tuesday. As taluk offices have been given the responsibility of the election process, counting will take place at taluk headquarters. In Hubli, a counting centre has been set up at the publishing unit of the Agricultural Marketing Department at Bhairidevarkoppa. Counting will begin at 8 a.m., according to V.R. Yaradakeri, Tahasildar of Hubli. According to sources, the results are likely to be declared in the afternoon.
