Warrant against Gurumurthy issued

KANCHEEPURAM:
The Kancheepuram Judicial Magistrate Court-I has issued an arrest warrant against columnist and founder of Swadesi Jagran Manch S. Gurumurthy in connection with a complaint filed by the Chief Investigation Officer, Special Investigation Team probing the Sankararaman murder case.According to the Additional Public Prosecutor, Thiyagarajan the then CIO, S.P. Sakthivelu, preferred a complaint with the Judicial Magistrate-I, G. Uthamaraj, in January this year stating that Mr. Gurumurthy was writing articles in certain newspapers about the Sankararaman murder case with an intention to ``deviate'' and ``disturb'' the course of investigation. Subsequently, the Magistrate forwarded the complaint to the Vishnu Kanchi police who have registered a case.
In the meantime, Mr. Gurumurthy approached the Madras High Court seeking some remedy in connection with this case, which was subsequently disallowed by the apex body, Mr. Thiyagarajan said.
Meanwhile, the investigation officer for the CIO complaint case, Mohanavelu said that charge sheet in this case was filed in the month of March and the Magistrate today issued a bailable warrant against the columnist.
