BANGALORE: The Deputy Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, has spoken differently from the State unit Working President of his party (Janata Dal-S), H.D. Kumaraswamy, on the functioning of the Government.

Mr. Siddaramaiah, who went on a padayatra in the Chamarajpet Assembly constituency on Monday morning, said the coalition government has performed well and the two partners — the Janata Dal (S) and the Congress — have acted in coordination. The Government can be proud of its handling of the State finances and implementing the annual plans, Mr. Siddaramaiah, who holds the Finance portfolio, said.

He appealed to the voters to bring about a change by voting the Janata Dal (Secular) party in the Chamarajpet Assembly bypoll.

Mr. Siddaramaiah, who commenced the "padayatra" by offering prayers at Dharmaraya Swamy Temple in the constituency, sought the blessings of the electorate to the party candidate, Zamir Ahmed Khan, to improve living conditions in the area.
