NALGONDA:
The police on Monday unearthed a dump consisting of a 12 bore tapancha, cartridges, grenades, medicines, compact discs and revolutionary literature of the Rachakonda dalam of the CPI (Maoist).
The Officer on Special Duty (OSD), V. Ravinder, told reporters that a combing party found two plastic drums in a pit on the outskirts of Polepally of Chintapally mandal. The recovered material included, a crude grenade launcher sachet, clay more mine box, 33 empty grenades, 900 igniter sets, two speakers, two CDs, six water bottles, 19 cassettes, large number of books and medical records.
Dr. Ravinder said the dump could have been planted by naxalites three months ago. A medical report issued by the Medwin Hospitals, Hyderabad, against the name of one Praveen was also found in the dump.
The OSD sought to refute the allegation that the police recovered Rs. 5 crores from the dump. "It's absolutely wrong. We did not recover any currency,'' he clarified.
