KOLLAM: The body of Sanal, 24, who was reported missing after being pulled into the sea by the waves on Kollam beach on Sunday evening, was found floating 10 km off the shore on Monday. Sanal had gone to the beach with friends. He is the son of the DCC vice-president, A.S. Nauld. A brief search by the local fishermen then went in vain. The search had to be suspended when it turned dark. This morning, the search was resumed under the supervision of the Marine Enforcement Wing. Local fishermen assisted in the search. The body was found by 10.40 a.m. and brought to the Tangassery Fishing Harbour. The body was handed over to relatives after a post-mortem examination at the District Hospital here. The funeral was performed immediately at the Bharatha Rajni Church. Sanal was working at a private firm in Kochi and was here on Sunday to attend the funeral of a relative. It was after the funeral that he went to the beach with friends.
