CHENNAI: An autorickshaw driver sustained injuries after his vehicle was trapped under an avenue tree, which fell on TTK Road on Monday night. According to residents, the tree fell on the road around 9 p.m. as an autorickshaw was passing through the stretch from Eldams Road. The vehicle was caught under the branches. The autorickshaw driver sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. A sub-inspector, who was at the spot, helped regulate traffic on the road. Following the incident, vehicles from Eldams Road signal point, heading towards Music Academy junction were diverted, police said.
