Jeweller held on cheating charge

CHENNAI:
The Sembium Police on Monday interrogated a jewellery shop owner who had complaints of cheating filed against him by several persons.
The police said that they received complaints from 50 persons that the jeweller, Thomas, who owned Kerala Gold Jewellery on Madhavaram High Road, had swindled nearly Rs. 2 lakhs from them.
He offered to sell jewellery to his customers on payment of instalments. However, they complained that he had shut his shop and had not given the jewellery to them.
