Expo to be held on building material

150 stalls to showcase various national and international brands

HYDERABAD: Exhibition of a whole range of building construction materials and tools, free design call centre, seminar on `Vaasthu', lectures, are to be featured in the three-day `Arch Show 2005' being organised by the Indian Institute of Architects, Andhra Pradesh Chapter. It is going to be held at the People's Plaza, Necklace Road, from August 5 to 7.

"The main objective of the Arch Show this year is to provide people with every bit of information on construction of houses or buildings and clear their doubts. It is also make people aware of the latest construction products and about the architecture profession," said D.T. Vinod Kumar, Chairman, and Milind Kollegal, Joint Honarary Secretary.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, they said the venue was chosen making the show more accessible to the general public. About 150 stalls showcasing both national and international brands, institutions, real estate firms and others will put up at the exhibition.

Call centres

On all three days, a design call centre manned by a panel of senior architects will answer queries free to anyone about any doubts or problems regarding building activity and architecture. Full product range will cover general building materials, contemporary fixtures like air-conditioning, refrigeration, acoustic systems, fire fighting, safety systems, interiors, doors & windows, kitchens & kitchen utilities, etc.

Awards

Mr. Vinod Kumar and Mr. Kollegal said that there were several misconceptions about `Vaasthu' and these too would be clarified.

There were also issues regarding their own profession, which they would like to enlighten the people.

Awards for architects in the categories of best designs in residential buildings, public buildings, commercial buildings and commercial complexes will be given during the show. Another award will be for the best architecture student of the final year.

Daily luck draws and a bumper prize on the final day will be part of `Arch Show 2005' being co-organised by Showindow Event Management.
