Woman ends life A housewife B. Swathi (19), died after she reportedly set herself ablaze at her residence at Saheb Nagar in Vanasthalipuram on Sunday evening.

The Vanasthalipuram police are investigating.

Succumbs to burns

S. Padma (26) of Tara Nagar in Chandanagar who reportedly set herself afire at her residence on May 26, died on Monday while undergoing treatment.

She was the wife of Ravi Shanker, who is presently jobless. It is learnt that Ravi Shanker, a habitual drunkard, used to reportedly harass his wife to get dowry from her parents. The Chandanagar police registered a case.

Dies of burns

A labourer, B. Shanker (27) of Uppuguda, who tried to save his wife from getting burnt and in the melee suffered severe burns on May 28, died on Monday while undergoing treatment. The condition of his wife, Samantamma is said to be serious.

Killed in road mishap

A Railway employee, Ashok Kambli (52) died on the spot after the scooter he was driving was hit by a RTC bus at Tarnaka on Sunday.

He was a resident of Vinobha Nagar in Lalapet.

The Osmania University police registered a case.

Purse stolen at IMAX

An American national, Erika, who had gone to Prasad's Imax to watch a movie, lost her purse containing Rs. 1,000 cash, credit cards and her driving license on Sunday. She lodged a complaint with the Saifabad police.
