CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka, at many places over Lakshadweep and at a few places over Rayalaseema and Kerala. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh and interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over Telangana.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeters are: Agathi Airport 6, Kundapur (Dakshina Kannada dt.) 4, Dharmasthala and Mulki (both Dakshina Kannada dt.) 3 each, Machilipatnam, Anantapur, Jammalamadugi (Cuddapah dt.), Karwar, Mudibidre (Dakshina Kannada dt.), Joida (Uttara Kannada dt.), Mysore, Aluva (Ernakulam dt.) and Aminidivi 2 each and Sholinghur (Vellore dt.), Pamidi (Anantapur dt.), Gadag, Kozhikode Airport, Kanjirapalli (Kottayam dt.), Kunnamkulam (Thrissur dt.) and Varkala (Thiruvananthapuram dt.) 1 each. On Monday, the maximum temperature fell markedly at one or two places over coastal and south interior Karnataka, fell appreciably at many places over Telangana, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, rest south interior Karnataka, Kerala, at a few places over Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over rest coastal Karnataka, Rayalaseema, fell at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest Rayalaseema and changed little elsewhere over the region. Nizamabad, Medak and Ramagundam recorded the highest maximum temperature of 39 degree Celsius in the region.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, interior Karnataka and Kerala. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Andhra Pradesh.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (valid until Thursday morning): Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
