`TRS confusing the issue'

Special Correspondent

VISAKHAPATNAM: Confusion is reigning in respect of the Telangana issue, according to the Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Bandaru Dattatreya.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, he remarked in a lighter vein: "Like `Brahmapadartham,' Telangana appears to be a grotesque product.''

He accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders for causing this confusion by issuing all sorts of statements on the issue.

"While the TRS chief, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, says that Telangana would become a reality but is unable to set a deadline, his lieutenant and Union Minister of Rural Development, A. Narendra, has set July 15 as the deadline.

The Congress leaders of Telangana region and the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, are also at variance in their comments,'' he said.

`BJP stand clear'

Asked what was the BJP stand, Mr. Dattatreya said: "We stand and swear by the 1994 Kakinada resolution of the party on smaller States.''
