CHENNAI: Rajan Eye Care Hospital is celebrating its 10th anniversary celebrations on June 2 with the inauguration of the Soundararaja Block. Mohan Rajan, Medical Director told media persons that the new block housed speciality eye clinics such as a cosmetic eye clinic, paediatric opthalmology unit, eye bank and vitreo-retinal services. The Block will also be used for academic purposes to train post-graduates. Dr. Rajan said Project REEP (Refractive Errors Education and Prevention) would be launched with the aim of eradicating blindness in children. The hospital has extended its facilities free of cost for children up to the age of 12 at Rajan Eye Care and any of its satellite centres for one year. Dr. Sujatha Mohan, Associate Medical Director, said in 10 years, the hospital planned to cover schools in and around Chennai to cure students of eye disorders. An open house session will be organised between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursday when there will be an exhibition of posters and models highlighting common eye diseases.
