THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The supply of drinking water to many parts of the city would be disrupted on Wednesday and Thursday owing to maintenance work at Aruvikkara and Pazhavangadi, according to the Kerala Water Authority. Areas such as Peroorkada, Kowdiar, Vellayambalam, Sasthamangalam, Paippinmoodu, Mannammoola, Nalanchira, Ulloor, Pongummoodu, Pattom, Kesavadasapuram, Medical College, Kumarapuram, Manvila, Sreekariyam and Attipra, serviced by the reservoirs at Peroorkada and Manvila, would have no water supply from 3 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday to enable the installation of a new transformer at the Aruvikkara pumping station. Water supply to Chala, Manacaud, Pazhavanagadi, Sreekanteswaram, Thampanoor, Palkulangara, Kamaleswaram, Fort, Ambalathara, Beemapally, Attukal, Kovalam, Kuriathi, Valiathura and Poonthura would be shut off from 7 p.m. on Wednesday to facilitate the relaying of the main water line at Pazhavangadi. The supply of drinking water to these areas would be resumed only at midnight on Thursday.
