Writ petition on excise policy admitted

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: A writ petition filed, challenging the new excise policy, has been admitted by the Andhra Pradesh High Court, but no stay was granted.

The bench comprising Justice Easwaraiah and Justice Bhanu was dealing with the writ petition filed by Durga Wines and others.

The petitioners complained that the new policy, which envisages tender process for allotment of retail outlets, is unconstitutional and against the earlier judgements of the court. The case has been posted after vacation.
