HYDERABAD: A 16-year-old girl suffered injuries on her leg when a youth, along with three others, reportedly hit her with a stone under the Alwal police station limits on May 29. A police complaint was, however, lodged only on Monday. According to the police, the girl, a first year Intermediate student and native of Kasibugga in Warangal district, had come to the city a few days ago to appear for the Intermediate Advanced Supplementary Examination. The centre for the examination was Loyola College at Alwal. When she arrived at the centre in an autorickshaw, four persons, two of whom were identified as Srikanth and Nandu, walked up to her. Srikanth allegedly caught her by her hair. When she tried to resist and escape, he picked up a stone and tried to hit her on the head. However, the stone missed the target and hit her leg. Later, the accused persons fled the spot. The police said that Srikanth used to tease and harass the girl while in Warangal. It was alleged that Srikanth bore a grudge against her as she had lodged a complaint against him in Warangal earlier. A police team was being sent to Warangal.
