Man jumps to death

A labourer, Shaik Mehmood , who is said to be mentally unstable, allegedly jumped from the second floor of the Osmania General Hospital on Monday. He died on the spot. He was a native of Pittalam village of Nagarjuna Sagar.

Three of family die of burns

Three of a family, including two children, who suffered burns when their hut caught fire at L.B Nagar on May 29, died on Monday while undergoing treatment at Osmania Hospital. The victims are -- B. Subhashini (25), her children, one-and-a half year old Balaji and Chandana (3). Subhashini's husband, Anjaneyulu, is undergoing treatment at the hospital. `Tiger skin' seized

The Uppal police arrested five persons including a rowdy-sheeter and seized what appeared to be a tiger skin on Monday.

The police arrested Badri Goud, Jagadish Goud, Raheem, Venkatesh and Raji Reddy, while they were allegedly creating a nuisance at a wine shop at Uppal. The tiger skin will be sent to AP Forensic Science Laboratory for confirmation.

Boy drowned

A class III student, Sai Kumar (9) of Alwal drowned in a pond at Venkateswara Swamy Temple near his residence on Tuesday. He had gone with his friends to catch fish. Sai Kumar was the son of Anthony Raj and Manjula.

Woman set ablaze dies

Aleema Begum (25), a resident of Hassan Nagar in Rajendranagar, who was allegedly set ablaze by her husband, Shamshuddin, on May 29, died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment. It is learnt that Aleema had caught him in a comprising position with their maidservant. A heated argument ensued after which he reportedly set her afire.

Adulterated petrol seized

The North zone Task Force team arrested G. Rajaiah at Tukaramgate and seized 135 litres of adulterated petrol. The accused used to buy petrol at Rs. 38 per litre and sell it for Rs. 44 per litre.

Raid on Net centre

The Central Zone Task Force team raided an Internet shop at Basheerbagh and apprehended its supervisor, G. Kushal for allowing customers to watch porn movies on Internet.
