KOCHI: Twenty-six persons were injured when two private buses collided on Tuesday morning at Aluva. According to the Aluva traffic police, the accident happened when the driver of the Kothamangalam-bound bus lost control over the vehicle which skidded in the drizzle and hit the other bus. The accident occurred at the turn in front of Carmel Hospital where such incidents took place often and a precautionary board had been installed there for some time. The drivers should have exercised caution at these points, the police said.
E-mail traced
The city police have traced the computer from which a derogatory e-mail was sent, impersonating the Registrar of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat). The Registrar had filed a case earlier this month that someone had impersonated him and sent an e-mail to Max Planc Institute, Germany. The latter was associating with the School of Industrial Fisheries for organising the first meeting of Asian Initiative in Legal Pluralism. The e-mail was against K.T. Thomson, a faculty at the school, who was coordinating the work. The e-mail was sent from a web-based account registrar@rediffmail.com, saying that the university had little relation with the activities of Mr. Thomson and any financial loss caused by the transaction between the institute and him would be at its risk. The police are hoping to narrow down on the suspect soon.
