Alleged suicide

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI: A 28 year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan in his residence at Khanpur in South Delhi on Tuesday. No suicide note has been found.

According to the police, the incident was reported around 6-45 in the evening. The victim, Mukesh, used to work as a labourer. Inquest proceedings have been initiated into the matter.

Bootleggers nabbed

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI: Two alleged bootleggers have been arrested from different parts of North-West Delhi in the past 24 hours. The police claim to have recovered 128 quarters and 37 halves of country-made liquor from them.

The accused were identified as Rajiv Kumar and Balwant Singh.

Man run over

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI: A 50-year-old man was run over by an unknown vehicle at Seelampur in North-East Delhi on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Nirmal Vajpayee, a resident of Ajit Nagar. The police said the accident occurred when Nirmal was crossing the road near Shahstri Park traffic junction. He was taken to GTB Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Teenager arrested

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI: A teenaged boy was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly raping his 11-year old cousin in South Delhi, police sources said.

The 17-year-old boy, who worked as a mechanic, had been sexually exploiting the girl for over six months. The victim, who is a resident of Badarpur, was threatened into silence by the boy, they said

However, the victim's sister noticed the boy with her today and informed the police after which he was arrested.
